What makes Diabetic Manual different from other diets? +

Diabetic Manual uses a patented diabetic nutrition program that is based on the successful clinical version that has helped tens of thousands of diabetics across the United States.  This program is a healthy nutrition program that provides diabetics and pre-diabetics with ideal food guidelines and dietary supplements both aimed at supporting blood sugar.

Diabetic Manual is an online program which allows you to use it in the comfort of your own home and at only a fraction of the cost you might otherwise pay to do a nutrition program through a doctor’s office.

Diabetic Manual has a feedback system which will help you to apply the principles of health that you will learn in the “Training Section” of the website.  It also has a social support system which allows you to connect with other important people in your life for the purpose of support and creating a sense of accountability

Am I supposed to lose weight on this program? +

Most people who are diabetic and prediabetic are overweight, even if only slightly. In fact, the average American is estimated to be 17 pounds overweight.  For this reason, if you really commit to this program and follow it as designed (or modified by your health care provider), and if you have some weight to lose, you probably will do so, and relatively quickly.

The average person eats a lot of bad carbohydrates (refined sugar and grains) and this is the main contributing factor to obesity.  And if a person eats bad carbohydrates over many years or decades, it may become the cause of insulin sensitivity and blood sugar control problems.

I have a health condition (diabetes, prediabetes or other health problems). Can I do this program? +

The standard answer is “Ask your doctor.”  This diet is based on eating healthy food and avoiding food that contains toxins or lack nutritional value. We focus on making sure our members get adequate nutrients, sleep, and water while getting the nutritional support necessary to successfully reach and maintain their health goals. We include high quality, safe supplements that do not contain stimulants or synthetic ingredients. What will I eat while on the diet? +

We will give you a list of approved foods, drinks, and seasonings.  The food we recommend is unprocessed, with the highest nutritional value.  We encourage you to eat organic foods and avoid food that has been genetically modified. You will be eating a variety of fruits, vegetables, meats, and seafood that you purchase and prepare yourself.  For those of you who don’t cook, we have cooking videos that show you how.

Does this program work if I don’t need to lose weight or only need to lose a few pounds? +

Yes.  This program is about eating a diet that will give you control over your health.  The main culprit with regard to chronic poor health in most people is the consumption of sugar.  This program will help you significantly reduce your sugar intake (refined sugar and food that converts easily to sugar, such as grains) while giving you the nutrients your body needs for proper function.

I’m currently taking medication will that interfere with my progress on the program? +

Many diabetics and prediabetics have gone through this program while taking medication—for blood sugar or for other health problems, such as high cholesterol or high blood pressure.

If you are on medication while doing this program, it’s important to help your doctor monitor your medication needs.  It’s not uncommon for people that consume the nutrients contained in this program (both food and dietary supplements) to have their doctor determine that a medication adjustment is necessary or that they no longer need medication all together.

It is never healthy to consume a medication that your body does not need so reporting changes in your body to your doctor is of extraordinary importance.

What is social support? +

Have you ever worked out in a gym with friends? From time to time you may have wanted to skip a workout, but you knew that your friends would say something to you about breaking your commitment.  That's social support.  Because you knew they would hold you accountable, you were more likely to attend each workout.  We ask you to do the same with Diabetic Manual.

You simply click a button to send friends and family an email or text to ask that they support your efforts.  They opt in by clicking a link that allows us to send them an email or text once a week letting them know how you are doing.  They never see your weight, or blood sugar readings, but rather how much you lost and any wins you chose to share.  You can have as many supporters as you would like to invite.  We found a direct correlation between the number of people following a members progress and their chances and speed of success.

What is daily feedback? +

This is a significant function of our site.  You log in each day to enter your sugar readings, weight and complete a check list to determine what you did and did not do that you should have during the prior 24 hours.  This teaches you the effects of following or violating the different health principles that you learn in the “Training” section.  It allows you to learn what will happen with each thing you do right or wrong and makes it possible to predict your daily blood sugar and weight each morning.  When you can do that, you will be able to make decisions knowing the impact each will have on your health.

I'm on high blood pressure medication. Can I do this program? +

Yes.  Like Diabetics on diabetes medication, you may find your dependence on medication declines as you progress through the program. Your body will begin to function better than it has in a long time.  As it does, your doctor may ask you to reduce or stop your medication all together.  Don’t modify your medications on your own.  It would be a good idea to take your Blood Pressure weekly and see your doctor if you need to adjust your dosage.

I have high cholesterol and take medication for it. How will this program affect my cholesterol or medication? +

Most members with high cholesterol at the onset of this program report a drastic improvement in their levels after learning to eat better foods.  We suspect the change is likely due to the combination of foods and the support of the dietary supplements.  Getting enough nutrients allows the body to start working as it was designed and this can correct a faulty cholesterol metabolism.  There is no adverse affect at all but don’t be surprised if the next time you have your levels checked you see an improvement.  Change in diet is the first line approach taken by most medical doctors in treating patients with high cholesterol.

How important are the supplements to my success on this program? +

The dietary supplements are a vital part of the Diabetic Manual program.  They were developed specifically for this program and are aimed at supporting the nutritional needs of diabetics and prediabetics.

The Phase 1 supplements taken in the first 30 days enhance the pathways in your body that eliminate toxic material.  You are exposed to toxins every day—in the air you breath, food you eat and many things with which you come into physical contact.  The accumulation of toxins trapped in your body make it harder for your body to heal.  The Phase 1 supplements are vital for those that want to get the best results on this program.

The Phase 2 supplements are formulated to enhance healing. They are specifically targeted to support those chemical pathways in the body that relate to blood sugar.

The Phase 3 supplements are formulated to maintain good health.  They also are specifically targeted to support those chemical pathways in the body that relate to blood sugar.

Will I have to take supplements after I reach my health goals? +

Yes you should continue taking supplements.  Even if you eat a perfect diet, you can’t get the nutrients needed to keep your body functioning at its best.  This is due to depleted soil and a nutrient deficient food supply.  The word supplement came about as a result of a large scale government study that showed a gap between the nutrients needed to avoid disease and what was possible to get from food. The difference between these two is what needs supplementing.

The purpose of eating food is to get the nutrients that your body needs to function properly. Nutrients help you maintain optimum health and the highest energy levels possible.   The Phase 3 supplements on this program are formulated to help maintain the progress that you made during Phase 1 and Phase 2.  They are designed to be taken for  a lifetime.

I already take supplements and would like to continue. Can I take them instead of the supplements you recommend? +

It is recommended that you stop taking any over-the-counter supplements while on this program—unless your physician has given you a prescription for your supplement, or otherwise recommends that you continue taking it.

The dietary supplements contained in this program have been specifically formulated for diabetics and prediabetics and contain the nutrients that best support the goals of this program.

I have had trouble taking supplements in the past. Are your supplements any different? +

Yes, the supplements on this program have been specifically created to support the nutritional needs of diabetics and prediabetics.  Most people have no problem with the supplements or the food recommendations on this program.

It is always possible that an individual is sensitive to a particular ingredients in a dietary supplements.  It is rare that this causes a noticeable problem, but it is possible with ANY dietary supplement that you may consume.

You should be aware that the Phase 1 supplements are formulated to enhance the cleansing pathways in your body. For this reason, some people experience unpleasant feelings, sensations or other body problems for the first week or two of taking the Phase 1 supplements.  This is often due to the toxins which your body is pushing out through your circulatory system.  As these toxins are pushed out, they can cause symptoms.

If you start taking a dietary supplement for the first time, or you increase your dosage as directed by the program instructions, and you subsequently feel bad, then reduce the dosage for a few days to see if anything changes.  When you feel better, you can once again increase the dosage.

If at any time while on this program you develop symptoms that don’t resolve within a few days, consult your physician.

Questions About Exercise


 

How important is exercise to my success with Diabetic Manual? +

Exercise has been shown to help improve blood sugar.  Most doctors recommend exercise to their diabetic patients.  However, to achieve success on the Diabetic Manual program does not require exercise.  If you enjoy exercise, or if you have an exercise routine in place, there is no need to stop.  In fact, you should continue with whatever light exercise you have been doing prior to the program.  No training for marathons or triathlons while on phase 1 or 2.  And be sure to check with your physician to ensure your exercise program is safe considering your health.
